The Right Holy war (Jihad)
The Holy war is that has taken place in a right way,and Allah allow us to do,it is the one that our religion has ordered Believers to do in a certain and necessary occasion,it is not illegal one,which broke Islamic law,and causes blood shed without a reasons allowed by our religion,so the Jihad or the Holy war is that ordered by Allah:
كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَ هُوَ كُرْهٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تَكْرَهُواْ شَيْئًا وَ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تُحِبُّواْ شَيْئًا وَ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ وَ اللّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَ أَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ (البقرة)
Verse in Albaqara(216):Fighting is ordained for you,though it is repugnant to you; but it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you,and it may be that you like a thing while it is bad for you.ALLAH knows and you know not.
The right Jahad or the Holy war is that which it’s reason is to make high the word of Allah,and that we defend the Islam,and we remove and stop the wronging and the aggressions in the people:
سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الرجل يقاتل شجاعة ، ويقاتل حمية ، ويقاتل رياء ، أي ذلك في سبيل الله ؟ قال :”من قاتل لتكون كلمة الله هي العليا ، فهو في سبيل الله”
Hadith:It is asked the Allah’s Messenger may peace and bless be upon him about the man fights for braveness or fights for tribalism or for show off,who is the right way of Allah’s sake?he said:who fight for to be the word of Allah high is the one in the right way and Allah’s sake.
It better we to know and define clearly about the right holy war which Allah allows us to make,the ones who we are with the war and fighting are those Unbelievers who are fighting with us and against our faith and the Islam,and making aggressions and an invasions,and making disturbance and corruption in the World,the Islam is a fair and justice religion it is not allowed to fight or make a war against whoever are not in a war or an enemity with the Islam,even if they are Unbelievers,only the war is for those who are in fight and enemity with the Islam:
وقاتلوا في سبيل الله الّذين يقاتلونكم ولا تعتدوا إنّ الله لا يحب المعتدين واقتلوهم حيث ثقفتموهم واخرجوهم من حيث أخرجوكم والفتنة أشدّ من القتل(البقرة)
Verse in Albaqara(190-191):And fight in the way of ALLAH against those who fight against you,but do not transgress.Surely,ALLAH loves not the transgressors.And slay these transgressors wherever you meet them and drive them out from where they have driven you out;for persecution is worst than slaying.
It allowed to fight against those who are wronging you,that is to get back your right and your freedom and defend yourself so in this purpose it is allowed to fight:
أذن للّذين يقاتلون بأنّهم ظلموا وإنّ الله على نصرهم لقدير الّذين أخرجوا من ديارهم بغير حقّ إلا أن يقولوا ربّنا الله (الحج)
Verse in Al-haj (39-40):Permission to take up arms is given to those against whom war is made,because they have been wronged and ALLAH,indeed,has power to help them.-Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly,only because they said, `Our Lord is ALLAH.’
The Holy war(Jihad) is one of the duties which is on the every believer to defend his faith and to let the word of Allah be high:
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم:”ألا أخبركم برأس الأمر وذروة سنامه؟قلت بلى،قال:”رأس الأمر الإسلام ،وعموده الصّلاة،وذروة سنامه الجهاد”
Hadith:The Messenger of Allah may peace and bless be upon him said:do I tell you the head of the matter and the top of it’s peak?I said yes,he said:the head of the matter is the Islam,and it’s pillar is the Prayer and the top of it’s peak is the Jihad the holy war.
There are some of an Unbelievers who are not allowed to be killed,they are those who are not fighting with the Islam and have no enemity towards Islam:
لا ينهاكم الله عن الذين لم يقاتلوكم في الدّين ولم يخرجوكم من دياركم أن تبرّوهم وتقسطوا إليهم إنّ الله يحبّ المقسطين (الممتحنّة)
Verse in Almumtahina(8):ALLAH forbids you not respecting those who have not fought against you on account of your religion,and who have not driven you out from your homes,that you be kind to them and deal equitably with them;surely,ALLAH loves those who are equitable.
It is wrong tho think that the holy war is to fight all who are Unbelievers,and as well to think that also who make relations and convention under Islam law and it’s rules to say we are fighting with them because the made relations with an Unbelievers,it is not allowed in the Islam to kill anyone wrongly,and whoever kills any Unbeliever who are in a convention with Muslim nations will be wronged and will get it’s punishment:
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: “من قتل معاهداً لم يرح رائحة الجنة وإن ريحها ليوجد من مسيرة أربعين عاماً” أخرجه البخاري
Hadith:Messenger of ALLAH may peace and bless be upon him said:The Messenger of Allah may peace and bless be upon him said:he who kills unbeliever who is in convention with believers will not smell the Pradise though it’s smell reaches in a distance of fourty years walk.
Anyone who kills a person who is saying the testimonial of the Islam(Ashahada),and kill attentionally will be wronged,and this religion is not upon the thinking and the idea of this Human,it is a curriculum Allah has set to this Universe,we have no any attempt and a new discovery in this religion,it from Allah,it is complete and every thing are told in it,just we have to practice as it is ordering us,so anyone who is encourage himself and others to put their own way and their idea in this religion will get their rewards of punishment from the Allah who has the power and the putting the laws in His creatures.
Anyone who kills a Muslim believer attentionally,will be casted down to the Helfire and there he will remain forever,that is what our religion told us and cleared in it’s verses:
ومن يقتل مؤمنًا متعمدًا فجزاؤه جهنّم خالدًا فيها وغضب الله عليه ولعنه وأعدّ له عذابًا عظيمًا(النساء)
Verse in Annisa(93):And whoso slays a believer intentionally, his reward shall be Hell wherein he shall abide.And ALLAH shall be wroth with him and shall curse him and shall prepare for him a great punishment.
If there are two person,or two groups and arose between them a war,and they are Muslims then that is a sedition(Fitnah),and everyone of them call that it’s in the right path,then there is exactly a Hadith telling about there case,and clearing that if two Muslims met in a killing pupose then one of them be killed both of them will be in the Hell:
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم:”إذا التقيا المسلمان بسيفيهما القاتل والمقتول في النّار”
Hadith:The Messenger of Allah may peace and bless be upon him said:if two believers meet with their swords the killer and dead one are both in the Hellfire.
It is prohibited to kill Muslim person and his blood is unlawful to shed it,and it is not you who can declare and decide about his faith only Allah knows him well,and his insulting and his killing is driving you to be an unbeliever:
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم:”سباب المسلم الفسوق وقتله الكفر”
Hadith:Messenger of ALLAH may peace and bless be upon him said:The insulting of the believer is transgression and his killing is an infidelity and getting unbeliever.
In this time we face and see many seditions and mistakes and misunderstanding of this religion,and you see people who ar Muslims and fighting between them and everyone think that he is the right one,this is a sedition(Fitnah),and we are told in our religion that if two groups who are Muslims fight together to make an agreement and a peace between them under the Quran and the Hadith judgements,and who denies the peace agreement will be fight together by whole Muslims till that group return to right that the Islam has set down in this religion:
وإن طائفتان من المؤمنين اقتتلوا فأصلحوا بينهما فإن بغت إحداهما على الأخرى فقاتلوا التي تبغي حتى تفيء إلى أمر الله فإن فاءت فأصلحوا بينهما بالعدل وأقسطوا إن الله يحب المقسطين (الحجرات)
Verse in Al-hujurat(9):And if two parties of believers fight each other,make peace between them;then if after that,one of them transgresses against the other,fight the party that transgress until it returns to the command of ALLAH. Then if it returns, make peace between them with equity, and act justly.Verily,ALLAH loves the just.
The Unbeliever who are fighting and showing his open enemity of the Islam,is allowed to fight with him,and that is a the holy war which believer do honestly and pay his life and his wealth for that,where it is the right holy war:
قاتل الّذين لا يؤمنون بالله ولا باليوم الآخر ولا يحرّمون ما حرّم الله ورسوله ولا يدينون دين الحقّ من الّذين أُتوا الكتاب حتّى يعطوا الجزية عن يد وهم صاغرون(التوبة)
Verse in Attouba(29):Fight those from among the people of the Book,who believe not in ALLAH,nor in the Last Day,nor hold as unlawful what ALLAH and HIS Messenger have declared to be unlawful,nor follow the true religion,until they pay the tax considering it a favour and acknowledge their subjection.
The right holy war is to let the word of Allah high,and defend the Islam,so the one who do perfectly the holy war will gain a good reward from Allah:
يا أيّها الّذين ءامنوا هل أدّلّكم على تجارة تنجيكم من عذابٍ أليم تؤمنون بالله ورسوله وتجاهدون في سبيل الله بأموالكم وأنفسكم ذالكم خير لكم إن كنتم تعلمون يغفر لكم ذنوبكم ويدخلكم جنّاتٍ تجري من تحتها الأنهار ومساكن طيبة في جنّاتٍ عدنٍ ذالك الفوز العظيم(الصّف)
Verse in As-saf(10-12):O ye who believe!shall I point out to you a commerce which will deliver you from a painful punishment?That you believe in ALLAH and His Messenger,and strive in the cause of ALLAH with your wealth and your persons.That is better for you,if you did but know.HE will forgive you your sins,and admit you to Gardens through which streams flow,and to pure and pleasant dwellings in Gardens of Eternity.That is the supreme triumph.
The important and the value of the holy war is a huge and is better than this World and what is on it all:
عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: لغدوة في سبيل الله، أو روحة خير من الدنيا وما فيها”
Hadith:Narrated from Anas Ibnu Malik may Allah bless him said:that the Messenger of Allah may peace and bless be upon him said:moving for Jihad in the sake of Allah early or in the evening is better than the World and what is on it.
Our religion is ordered us to fight against those Unbelievers who are fighting with the Islam,and getting enemity for the Islam,and that we stop and remove the sedition from this Universe they are arising in it,and it is told that the sedition or the persecution is worse than anything else,so it is to remove and finish if from the World:
وقاتلوهم حتّى لا تكون فتنة ويكون الدّين كلّه لله فان انتهوا فإنّ الله بما يعملون بصير وإن تولّوا فاعلموا أنّ الله مولاكم نعم المولى ونعم النّصير(الأنفال)
Verse in Al-anfaal(39-40):And fight them until there is no persecution and religion is wholly to ALLAH.But if they desist, then surely ALLAH is Watchful of what they do.And if they turn back,then know that ALLAH is your Protector-an excellent protector and an excellent Helper!
The person who go out for intention to fight in the holy war,and then by any reason meets his death,then that person will be among the Martyrs(Shuhada) of Allah:
عن أبي مالك الأشعري رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:(من فصل في سبيل الله فمات أو قتل فهو شهيد، أو وقصه فرسه أو بعيره، أو لدغته هامة، أو مات على فراشه أو بأي حتف شاء الله، فإنه شهيد، وإن له الجنة(
Hadith:Narrated from Abi Malik Al-asha’ri may Allah bless him that the Messenger of Allah may peace and bless be upon him said:who went for sake of Allah like going to Jihad then dead or killed he is Martyr(Shahid),or kicked by his horse or his camel, or stang by some vermins,or he dead in his mattress or any cause by Allah’s will then he is martyr and he will gain a Paradise.
The holy war(Jihad) has different types,there is a Jihad you are doing with your life and that you preventing it to follow it’s desires,but you guide it to follow the Islam and what our religion are cammanding us to do or to stop it,so this is a kind of Jihad:
عن فضالة بن عبيد الله رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:”ألا أخبركم بالمؤمن؟ من أمنه النّاس على أموالهم وأنفسهم،والمسلم من سلّم النّاس من لسانه،ويده،والمجاهد من جاهد نفسه في طاعة الله، والمهاجر من هجر الخطايا والذنوب”
Hadith:Narrated from Fadala Ibnu Ubaidallah may Allah bless him said:that the Messenger of Allah may peace and bless be upon him said:do I tell you about the Mu’min?it is who are peope saved with their money and their lifes from him,and Muslim is the one who people get secure and save from his tongue and his hand,and Mujahid is the one who struggle by his life for obedience of Allah commands and Muhajir is the one who immigrate and go far from the sins and wrongdoings.
The Jihad for the women is that one which is not a war,it is the Pilgrimage,this is what our Messenger may peace and the bless of Allah be upon him taught us:
سألت عائشة رضي الله عنها النبيّ صلى الله عليه وسلّم هل على النّساء جهاد؟ فقال عليهنّ جهاد لا قتال فيه،الحج والعمرة،وقالت رضي الله عنها استأذنت الرّسول في الجهاد فقال لها جهادكنّ الحج.
Hadith:Aisha may Allah please her asked the Messenger may peace and bless be upon him if the women ought to fight in Jihad?,then he said there is a Jihad for them but without fight,it is pilgrimage and minor hajj(Omrah),and she said may Allah please her I asked him to allow me fighting in Jihad then he said to her your Jihad is the pilgrimage(Alhajj).
The Muslims were ordered to be aware and in an attention continually,and they to be ready in every time to defend their right and to be ready for the Unbelievers who are fighting with them:
وأعدّوا لهم ما استطعتم من قوّة ومن رباط الخيل ترهبون به عدوّا الله وعدوّكم وءاخرين من دونهم لا تعلمونهم الله يعلمهم وما تنفقوا من شيء في سبيل الله يوفّ أليكم وأنتم لا تظلمون (الأنفال)
Verse in Al-anfaal(60):And make ready for them who fight you whatever you can of armed force and of mounted pickets at the frontier,whereby you may frighten the enemy of ALLAH and your enemy and others besides them whom you know not,but ALLAH knows them. And whatever you spend in the way of ALLAH,it shall be paid
back to you in full and you shall not be wronged.
Allah glory to Him has given us a great chance that we can get easily to gain the Paradise,it is to obey His orders and worship Him perfected as He pleased:
إنّ الله اشترى من المؤمنين أنفسهم وأموالهم بأنّ لهم الجنّة يقاتلون في سبيل الله فيقتلون ويقتلون وعدًا عليه حقًّا في التوراة والإنجيل والقرءان ومن أوفى بعهده من الله فاستبشروا ببيعكم الّذي بايعتم به وذالك هو الفوز العظيم(التّوبة)
Verse in Attouba(111):Surely,ALLAH has purchased of the believers their persons and their property in return for the heavenly Garden they shall have;they fight in the cause of ALLAH,and they slay and are slain-an unfailing promise that HE has made binding on Himself in the Torah,and the Gospel,and the Qur’an.And who is more faithful to his promise than ALLAH?Rejoice,then,in your bargain which you have made with HIM;and that is the mighty triumph.
The holy war makes and shows the differ between the people,it clears how far a person having a true faith,and real guidance that his religion orders him:
أم حسبتم أن تتركوا ولمّا يعلم الله الّذين جاهدوا منكم ولم يتّخذوا من دون الله ولا الرّسول ولا المؤمنين وليجة والله خبير بما تعملون(التّوبة)
Verse in Attouba(16):Do you think that you would be left in peace,while ALLAH has not yet known those of you who strive in the cause of ALLAH and do not take anyone for an intimate friend besides ALLAH and HIS Messenger and the believers? And ALLAH is well-Aware of what you do.
Allah the Highest loves His slaves or servants who obey His orders and go for the holy war(Aljihad).
إنّ الله يحب الّذين يقاتلون في سبيله صفًا كأنّهم بنيانٌ مرصوص (الصّف)
Verse in As-saf(4):Verily,ALLAH loves those who fight in HIS cause arrayed in solid ranks,as though they were a strong structure cemented with molten lead.
Allah glory to Him gives a help and a support to the real believers who obey Him:
إنّ الله يدافع عن الّذين ءامنوا إنّ الله لا يحب كلّ خوّان كفور(الحج)
Verse in Al-haj (38):Surely,ALLAH defends those who believe.Surely,ALLAH loves not anyone who is perfidious,ungrateful.
There is a condition whoever do a support in the sake of Allah,that Allah will support him and give him His help,and there if Allah with you nobody can’t harm you or can success over you or defeat you,anyone who is getting the help of Allah will be in a confirmed and strong success:
إن ينصركم الله فلا غالب لكم وإن يخذلكم فمن ذا الّذي ينصركم من بعده وعلى الله فليتوكل المؤمنين(العمران)
Verse in Al emran(160):If ALLAH helps you none can overcome you; but if HE forsakes you, then who is there that can help you beside HIM ? In ALLAH, then, let the believers put their trust.
Those who are against the Islam and fighting against Islam is ordered to fight and to take a holy war in order to stop their aggression,and to defend the Islam:
إنّما جزآء الّذين يحاربون الله ورسوله ويسعون في الأرض فسادًا أن يقتلوا أو يصلّبوا أو تقطّع أيديهم وأرجلهم من خلاف أو ينفوا من الأرض ذالك لهم خزيٌ في الدّنيا ولهم في الأخرة عذابٌ عظيم (المائدة)
Verse in Almaida(33):The only reward of those,who wage war against ALLAH and HIS Messenger and strive to create disorder in the land,is that they be slain or crucified or their hands and feet be cut off on account of their enmity,or they be expelled from the land.That shall be a disgrace for them in this world,and in the Hereafter they shall have a great punishment;
The Muslim believer fight in the sake of Allah,where the Unbeliever fight in the sake of the Satan:
الّذين ءامنوا يقاتلون في سبيل الله والّذين كفروا يقاتلون في سبيل الطاغوت فقاتلوا أولياء الشّيطان إنّ كيد الشّيطان كان ضعيفاً (النسّاء)
Verse in Annisa(76):Those who believe fight in the cause of ALLAH,and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of the Evil One.Fight ye therefore,against the friends of Satan;surely Satan’s strategy is weak.
The Martyrs who has been killed in the holy war,are alive they are not in the dead people,and they get their needs from the Almighty Allah:
ولا تحسبنّ الّذين قتلوا في سبيل الله أمواتًا بل أحياءٌ عند ربّهم يرزقون فرحين بما ءاتاهم الله من فضله ويستبشرون بالّذين لم يلحقوا بهم من خلفهم الا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون(ألعمران)
Verse in Al emran(169-170):Think not of those,who have been slain in the cause of ALLAH,as dead.Nay, they are living,in the presence of their Lord,and are granted gifts from HIM;Jubilant because that which ALLAH has given them of HIS bounty; and rejoicing for the sake of those who have not yet joined them from behind them, because on them shall come no fear nor shall they grieve.
The person who participate the holy war,is doing a favour for himself,and he will gain a reward and a Paradise from his Lord:
ومن جاهد فإنّما يجاهد لنفسه إنّ الله لغنيّ عن العالمين(العنكبوت)
Verse in Al-ankabut(6):And whoso strives,strives only for his own soul;verily, ALLAH is Independent of all HIS creatures.
The advantages and the superiority for the holy war,and to be martyr in the Jiahd is uncountable,let’s see this Hadith:
عن المقدام بن معديكرب،عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم قال:للشهيد عند الله ست خصال:يغفرله في أول دفعة من دمّه،ويرى مقعده من الجنّة،ويجار من عذاب القبر،ويأمن من الفزع الأكبر،ويحلّلى حلية الإيمان،ويزوج من الحور العين،ويشفع في سبعين من إنسانًا من أقاربه”
Hadith:Narrated from Almiqdad Bin Ya’dakarib may Allah bless him said:that the Messenger of Allah may peace and bless be upon him said:the Martyr has six things from Allah: He forgives from the first drop of his blood,and he sees his position in the Pradise,and he is saved from grave’s torment and punishment,and secured and saved from the big frightened of the resurrection day,and he is clothed by the jewel of the faith,and he is married to houral a’in,and he will accepted for him the intercession of seventy from his relatives.
We ask Allah to allow us to become a Martyrs in His sake,and get His mercy and His Paradise.Amen.Amen.Amen.
